How I lost 40 pounds from a place of lovig myself.
Our stories about ourselves can cause emotional pain.
I remember standing on the scale 2 years ago and it read 201 pounds.
My first thought was “I shouldn’t weigh this much.”
Immediately, I felt shame and disappointment in myself.
I wanted to hide.
I didn’t want to wear cute clothes, or get dressed up.
It was almost like I didn’t deserve to look cute.
I look back now and realize I gave all my power away to that number.
I thought if I kept shaming myself, I would motivate myself to lose weight and eat healthier.
I was wrong.
I actually started to separate the facts from the thoughts.
The fact: scale says 201.
Then I went to work.
I started rewiring my brain that the number means NOTHING about me.
I was CHOOSING to believe I shouldn’t weigh that much.
I was punching myself in the face over and over evert-time I thought something was wrong with me.
I decided to change the story.
I claimed God’s truth on my life that no matter what the scale says, I am 100% worthy, loveable & capable.
I just kept practicing believing that.
As I believed it, I started loving myself.
And from that love, I was patient as I took action to lose 40 pounds.
If I can do it, you can too.
But I promise you….it starts with separating the number on the scale from your worthiness.
