#156 - Break the "All or Nothing" Cycle - Bootcamp Q&A

We talked about the "All or Nothing" Cycle and how to break it to lose the weight we want.
Here's how the cycle works:
- We have an "over-desire" to be thin.
- This creates urgency to be thin now.
- We restrict and try to lose weight from a place of extreme measures.
- This causes burnout and deprivation. We are miserable.
- We decide we would rather be overweight instead of living in this misery.
- We over-indulge.
- Indulgence doesn't feel good after a while.
- So then we have the urgent desire to be thin again and it all starts over.
How do we break this cycle? The key is to ask yourself, "What do I think "thinness" will bring me?
And for most of us, it's happiness, contentment, joy, or confidence. We think a thinner body will get us a feeling.
The good and bad news is that changing our bodies won't create new feelings for us, but rather change our thoughts about ourself. Those new thoughts create the feelings we want.
